This module is used to overlay images on a current page. A thumbnail image, for example, can be expanded in it's own window without navigating away from the current page. It is a very simple set up as well.
1. Download and activate the module
2. Create, a content type with an "Image" field
3. Go to Manage Fields
4. Click the "Format" drop-down menu
5. Upon selecting one of the "Lightbox:" options, hit Save Optional: Editing the color scheme and other configurations Modules > Lightbox2 > Configure
